Using the Internet to Seek Jobs

The most common way for people screaming “find me a job” today to start looking for work is on the world wide web. Not so long ago it was more common to look in the newspaper on a cold thursday evening, browsing for something that caught your eye and then calling for an application form or writing a covering letter and sending across a CV in the post. Unfortunately often the cost of a stamp was wasted.

Looking at that scenario now it’s laughable and appears to be a tale from the dark ages. With internet access so widespread and free in libraries it is easy for any man or indeed woman off the street to use the internet so help with their career progression. Just go to a site like Google and start typing keywords related to your location and your chosen field – you will soon see it’s easier than it first appears.
